Terms of Use
Medexia – AKT Navigator
Last updated: 30 July 2026
1. About AKT Navigator
AKT Navigator is an educational platform designed to support revision for the MRCGP Applied Knowledge Test (AKT).
It is intended solely for exam preparation.
It is not a clinical decision-making tool and must not be used to guide real patient care.
2. Who can use the app
AKT Navigator is intended for:
- Doctors and trainees preparing for postgraduate medical exams
- Users aged 18 or over
Access may be by invitation, paid subscription, or other arrangement, and may be withdrawn if these terms are breached.
3. Educational use only
By using AKT Navigator, you agree that:
- Content is for learning and revision purposes only
- Explanations and AI-assisted responses may be incomplete or inaccurate
- You will always refer to NICE, NICE CKS, and the BNF for up-to-date clinical guidance
- You remain fully responsible for your own clinical judgement
AKT Navigator does not replace supervision, training, or official guidance.
4. AI-assisted features
AKT Navigator includes optional AI-assisted explanations.
- These are on-demand and initiated by you
- They are designed to help you understand exam questions, not to provide medical advice
- AI outputs should be treated as educational support, not authoritative sources
When using these features you must not:
- Paste patient-identifiable information into any prompt
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or reverse-engineer the model or its outputs
- Use AI responses to make real clinical decisions
If something seems unclear or incorrect, you should verify it against official UK guidance.
5. Accounts and access
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login details secure
- Ensuring the information you provide is accurate
- Not sharing your account with others
You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible — see our Privacy Policy for what is removed.
We may suspend or close accounts if:
- The platform is used in breach of the Acceptable Use section below
- These terms are breached
- The service is discontinued or significantly changed
6. Acceptable use
When using AKT Navigator, you agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, download, or otherwise extract questions, explanations, or other content in bulk
- Access the platform through automated means (bots, scripts, headless browsers) other than features we explicitly provide
- Share, resell, sublicense, or republish your access or any content from the platform
- Use the platform to make decisions about real patients, or paste any patient-identifiable information into any field
- Interfere with the platform's operation, security, or other users' access
- Use the platform in any way that breaks UK law or professional regulation
7. Access, subscriptions and payments
AKT Navigator is free for everyone until 8 July 2026. During this period, all features — audiobooks, practice questions, the Statistics course and videos — are available at no cost, and no card is required.
What changes on 8 July 2026
From 8 July 2026, AKT Navigator moves to a tiered model:
- Free — the full practice-question bank remains free to use, together with up to 2 hours of cumulative audiobook listening per account.
- Early Access — £59 — a one-off payment unlocking unlimited audiobooks plus full access to the Statistics course, videos and Derm Navigator. Available to lock in before 8 July 2026.
- Full Audio Pass — £79 — the same unlimited access for users who upgrade on or after 8 July 2026.
Paid access covers the revision window from 8 July 2026 through to the autumn AKT sitting (currently up to 8 November 2026). The exact access period and end date for your plan are shown clearly at the point of purchase before you pay.
When you purchase a plan:
- Pricing, the access period, and exactly what the plan includes are shown clearly at the point of purchase
- Payments are processed by Stripe — we do not store full card details
- VAT is applied where applicable
- You can view your plan and access status at any time from your profile page
14-day right to cancel
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a paid plan within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund, no reason required.
To exercise this right, email support@medexia-akt.com within 14 days of your purchase. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 working days.
July Advocate Reward
Eligible July AKT users who accept the current Advocate Reward terms may receive a £25 Amazon UK eGift Card for each eligible new customer who uses their referral link or code and completes a paid Full Audio purchase. While the programme is active there is no advertised per-person referral cap; Medexia may pause or close the programme prospectively by giving notice in the app.
- The referred customer receives the discount displayed at checkout (currently £10 where the advocate discount is enabled)
- Rewards apply to genuine new customers and cannot be earned through self-referrals, duplicate accounts, collusion, or other misuse
- A click or signup alone does not earn a reward; the referred purchase must complete and remain paid
- Rewards are scheduled manually after the cancellation/refund review period and may be held for fraud or attribution review
- If the referred purchase is refunded or charged back before fulfilment, the related reward is cancelled; suspected misuse may be placed in manual review
- Advocates must disclose clearly when sharing that they receive a £25 Amazon UK eGift Card if the recipient purchases
Amazon is not a sponsor of the programme. “Amazon” is a trade mark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Paid-user referral refunds
Users with an active paid plan may earn a partial refund of their own purchase for each eligible new customer (up to 3) who uses their referral link or code and completes a paid Full Audio purchase before 1 November 2026. The first two rewards are £25 each; the third is whatever remains of the referrer's own purchase price, so three completed referrals refund everything the referrer paid. Refunds can never exceed the amount actually paid.
- The referred customer receives the discount displayed at checkout (currently £10 off Full Audio, so £69 instead of £79)
- Refunds are issued automatically to the referrer's original payment method approximately 21 days after the referred purchase completes, provided it remains paid
- If the referred purchase is refunded or charged back before the reward is issued, the related reward is cancelled
- Rewards apply to genuine new customers and cannot be earned through self-referrals, duplicate accounts, collusion, or other misuse; suspected misuse may be placed in manual review
- Referrers should disclose clearly when sharing that they receive money back if the recipient purchases
- Medexia may pause or close the programme prospectively by giving notice in the app
8. Service availability and changes
AKT Navigator is under active development.
This means:
- Features may be added, changed, or removed
- Occasional bugs, maintenance, or downtime may occur
- Underlying data structures may evolve
We aim to be transparent about significant changes and to maintain a reliable service for everyone using the platform.
9. Intellectual property
All content, software, and materials in AKT Navigator are owned by Medexia or licensed to us.
You may not:
- Copy or redistribute content
- Use material for commercial purposes
- Reverse engineer or misuse the platform
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Medexia is not liable for clinical decisions made using this platform
- We are not responsible for exam outcomes
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited — this includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. If changes are significant, we will make this clear within the app and, where reasonable, give you advance notice before they take effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. General
Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms continue to apply.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the whole agreement between you and Medexia regarding your use of AKT Navigator.
No waiver. If we don't enforce a right under these terms straight away, that doesn't mean we have given it up.
